VLORA, June 12/ATA/-After Tirana, the 6-th edition of Modern Music Festival was held in Vlora on Sunday evening organized by the General Consulate of Italy in this city, by support of the Albanian Ministry of Culture and the City Hall.
Jazz music or other modern or local music, alternated with salsa dance, the twist and tango dance prevailed for about two hours in the open at the hill of Kuzum Baba in the presence of tens of guests, intellectuals, artists, art-lovers, heads of local institutions, Italian citizens resident in Vlora. Attending the event was Vlora Mayor Dritan Leli.
The instrumentalists from Albania, Italy and Brazil, among whom the drummer of Adriano Celentano band and the first trombonist of the “Pavaroti and Friends” created a special festive atmosphere where participants and guests became part of it through joining in the dance.
Italy’s Consul-General in Vlora Luana Alita Micheli told ATA that holding of this event in Vlora is part of the daily activity of the Consulate for encouraging cultural life and promoting cooperation and friendship between the two peoples.
On his part, the curator of this event in Vlora Aulon Naçi said that the the 6-th edition of Modern Music Festival in this city is a novelty that is related with the other cultural events. He said that the target is to transform this festival into a tradition in this city while he congratulated the Consulate General of Italy in Vlora for this organization. He also brought to evidence the fact that this is the forth event in the field of culture initiated by this consulate in the last two months and that is also a novelty./m.m/p.s./
