
TIRANA, Aug 20 /ATA/-By Gjergji Mima/ – President of the Republic, also the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Bujar Nishani has appointed Brigadier General Vladimir Avdiaj to the post of the new commander of Albanian Air Force.
President Nishani handed over the Presidential decree appointing Brigadier General Avdiaj as commander of Air Force during a meeting at the Presidentâs office on Thursday with the attendance of Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Major Jeronim Bazo, and members of the Presidentâs cabinet.
The Head of State congratulated Brigadier General Avdiaj on assuming the great and challenging office, voicing confidence for successful completion of the task.
President Nishani praised achievements and sacrifices of the members of Armed Forces, highlighting the Air Force contribution towards strengthening security over the past two decades.
President of the Republic praised membership in NATO as the countryâs greatest achievements, noting that being a NATO member requires higher standards of Armed Forces to cope successfully with domestic and global security challenges.
